Trophy Card Fun Fold

Trophy Card Fun Fold

Welcome! I’ll bet you think this Trophy Card Fun Fold is difficult. Well, I’m here to Gell you it’s really easy. But, what a WOW the recipient will get when they open it. Can’t you just see them displaying this one on a shelf or windowsill.

Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Trophy Card Fun Fold, Country Home, Stampin' Up!

For my focal image, I’ve used the Country Home set. That set carried over from our Holiday Catalog. It’s a 14-piece photopolymer set. Because it has a great mix of both fabulous images and sentiments, you’ll want to add this one to your collection.

Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Trophy Card Fun Fold, Country Home, Stampin' Up!

My tip of the day, don’t forget to stamp those envelopes. It makes your card even that much more special. Other ways to step up your envelope would be to line the flap. You could also use one of your embossing folders to emboss the flap as well.

Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Trophy Card Fun Fold, Country Home, Stampin' Up!

I’ll bet one of your first questions about this card was, “where can I sign it, or add a note”. No problem, there is an entire panel on the back side for just that. And of course the card fits in one of our standard envelopes.

Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Trophy Card Fun Fold, Country Home, Stampin' Up!

It’s easy to collapse the Trophy Card. Just push gently on the pop up panel and it will slip into the base.

Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Trophy Card Fun Fold, Country Home, Stampin' Up!

To color my focal image I’ve used a mix of our Stampin’ Blends and Stampin’ Write Markers. We are so lucky that all the colors are consistent and easy to match.

There’s a couple of things I’ve used on this card that you might want to add to your next order. The retiring list will be published on April 15th. Things will go quickly. That gorgeous ruffled Fresh Fig ribbon will be one thing on that list. And usually the DSP from the Annual Catalogs are retired. This one is the Nature’s Poem DSP.

A little confession is in order. The dies that were offered for this fabulous stamp set, have sold out. But, that large glorious image wouldn’t be too difficult to fussy cut. Or, if you are a techie and have a fancy electronic cutter that would work as well. I also know, that if the dies are sold out, lots of you guys have them. Break them out and create along with me!

Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Easy Fun Fold, Double Z, Stampin' Up!

You can use lots of Stampin’ Up! coloring options to finish off this lovely image. I used a few Stampin’ Write Markers as well as the Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Blend. The best part, no matter which one you choose, you can mix and match and they all coordinate.  Why? Stampin’ Up! has the best color coordination EVER!

Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Easy Fun Fold, Double Z, Stampin' Up!

The sweet little panel next to the sentiment, is the perfect spot for your handwritten message. It’s okay, I give you permission to write on the DSP! hahahaha!!!

Hope I captured the embossing on the images for you. I think the light was hitting just right in this photo. That adds another level of texture, interest and WOW to this card.

Swiper Fun Fold Card

Swiper Fun Fold Card

Time to have some fun! Whoever receives this card will be amazed at the swiper fun fold. It looks a little difficult, but I promise, it’s super easy. One of the best parts is that you can decorate the fold in any way you like to suit your needs. In this swiper fun fold, I wanted it to be very versatile, and the Love What You Do stamp set helped me do just that.

Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Swiper Fun Fold, Stampin' Up!

If you know me, you know I love texture and layers on my cards. That was easy with the Tin Tile Embossing Folder. And to create those sweet accent elements I turned to two of the die sets in the Occasions Catalog. I just love all the doo-dads we have to play with.

Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Swiper Fun Fold, Stampin' Up!

The lovely designer series papers are part of the Share What You Love paper pack. Did you know that it’s a larger pack of 12×12 DSP?  Not only that, it’s a specialty paper that has a translucent, penalized finish. The paper has handprinted designs on a heavyweight paper. It’s also perfect for creating boxes and bags.

Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Swiper Fun Fold, Stampin' Up!

The swiper fun fold also fits in a regular size envelope. What could be better?  It’s also a display card. Once you pull the sides of the card, it stands on it’s own. To complete the card, you can write your message on the back.

Fable Friends Gatefold Card

Fable Friends Gatefold Card

As crafters, we are always looking ahead to the next holiday to create something beautiful. Easter will be here before we know it. That’s why I chose the Fable Friends stamp set to kick off the season. The images are so cut, easy to color and the set has a variety of sentiments.

Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Fable Friends, Stampin' Up!

Stampin’ Up! makes creating quick and easy. You can select on project from one suite and it will match or coordinate with those in another. So, using an embossing folder for my Fable Friends duck image I selected new “Dot to Dot” folder. I though it gave just the right amount of texture.

Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Fable Friends, Stampin' Up!

My coloring medium was watercolor pencils They are easy to use and blend beautifully. For the mother duck I used Pacific Point, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie and Granny Apple Green. Because I used the aqua painter to blend, it gives a soft look to the card.

Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Fable Friends, Stampin' Up!

Finishing off the inside of the card, I chose the row of baby ducks stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. Aren’t that just too cute? To ground them I just added a few scribbles of the Granny Apple Green and blended with the aqua painter.

Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Fable Friends, Stampin' Up!

Did you notice the stitching around the embossed mat? That’s because I cut the rectangle first with the Rectangle Stitched framelits. So much texture and interest, right up my alley. I would love to teach you how to create this card.  I’ve filmed a FREE video tutorial for you.

Here’s how the magic happens.

  • Card Base – Thick Whisper White cS – 8 1/2″ x 5 1/5″ scored at 2 1/8″ on each side.
  • Mat – Pineapple Punch CS – two @ 1 7/8″ x 5 1/4″

Z-Fold Climbing Roses

Z-Fold Climbing Roses

Aren’t fancy folds fun? I sure think so. Today, I’ll be sharing my Z-Fold Climbing Roses card. An added plus is the coloring technique. It’s a simple watercolor wash on Shimmery White card stock. So quick and easy, you won’t believe it.

Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Z-Fold Climbing Roses, Stampin' Up!

WOW, right? The jumping off point for my Z-fold Climbing Roses card was the color combination. I love bright vibrant colors, so I chose Blackberry Bliss, Grapefruit Grove, Mint Macaron and Whisper White. The designer series paper comes for our Nature’s Poem collection. One sheet is more beautiful than the next.

Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Z-Fold Climbing Roses, Stampin' Up!

Did you know that Shimmery White cardstock will hold up to watercolor wash techniques? The paper is thicker and has a coating, so no pilling!  Not only that, you get the added plus of having shimmer built in.

Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Z-Fold Climbing Roses, Stampin' Up!

Whoever you decide to gift this card to will want to display it. That’s what makes the z-fold such a popular fancy fold. You can get one card from a sheet of 8 1/2″ x 11″ card stock. You’ll even have a couple scraps left over.
