Floral Essence Sneak Peek

Floral Essence Sneak Peek

I just couldn’t wait any longer to share the Floral Essence bundle with you. I just love when a bundle includes a punch. And what makes this one extra special, it’s a flower petal punch. Can’t you just see yourself creating so many different styles and colors of flowers. But wait, did you see the gorgeous images in this set. Oh my goodness, are you in for a surprise.

Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Floral Essence Bundle Sneak Peek, Stampin' Up!

Let’s crack open that fabulous new Annual Catalog to pages 107 through 108. In the Perennial Essence Suite we have the lovely Floral Essence Bundle, over the top Perennial Esssence DSP, gorgeous organdy striped ribbon, fantastic 12″ x 12″ vellum cardstock and fun Perennial Essence Floral Centers. WOW!!!!! Don’t have a catalog? I’ld be happy to send you one. Click here, fill in the form, and I’ll get one off to you.

Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Floral Essence Bundle Sneak Peek, Stampin' Up!

Okay, wait, I didn’t think that the Perennial Essence DSP could get any prettier, but then I decided to run it through my die cutting machine with the Country Floral embossing folder. My #1 tip about that – spritz your paper with a little H2O first. It helps to keep the paper from cracking. That’s a really deep folder, but oh so pretty. Can you believe this texture?

Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Floral Essence Bundle Sneak Peek, Stampin' Up!

I think by making that decision it enhanced the design in the paper and made the floral images in the paper appear to have been watercolored. That was a win-win.

Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Floral Essence Bundle Sneak Peek, Stampin' Up!

Let’s talk about these stinkin’ cute flowers, shall we. I used our vellum cardstock because I wanted a soft look. Vellum can take a little time to dry, so instead of waiting for that, I decided to sprinke the stamped images with a little clear embossing powder and heat set with the heat tool. Perfection! The flower centers are just so textural. One of the best features, of these sweet embellishments, they weigh almost nothing.

Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Floral Essence Bundle Sneak Peek, Stampin' Up!

Then I wanted to tackle the inside of the card. The stamp set includes that gorgeous floral image along with a smaller one in the same style. The Floral Essence bundle is a must-have. Be sure to add it to the top of your wish list. Would you like to see how I created this one. I’ve got a video for you.

Here’s how the magic happens.

Rooted in Nature You Are Wonderful

Rooted in Nature You Are Wonderful

One of my favorite things to do is to create my own designer series paper. Rooted in Nature has so many beautiful images. It makes that task super easy.

Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Rooted in Nature, Stampin' Up!

Starting things off, I chose a color palette. This one is Tranquil Tide, Cajun Craze, Soft Suede, Blackberry Bliss and Mint Macaron. All those yummy colors can be found in the Nature’s Poem DSP. Be sure to pick up a pack or two before it retires on June 3rd.

Rooted in Nature You are Wonderful

There are lots of spectacular benefits to the Rooted in Nature bundle. First off, there are lots of images and a great mix of sentiments. The set can be used of all occasions. Then we have the dies. Oy my goodness, these are special. Not only do some of the images cut, but they emboss as well.  Did you see all the texture on those leaves?

Rooted in Nature You are Wonderful

I’ve even included a tip and trick using the Nature’s Twine. It’s a little thicker than our regular baker’s twine. That’s because it’s twisted multiple threads. So, I thought, if it’s twisted, I can untwist it. That’s how I achieved the threads under the large wood image.

Sometimes, the most unexpected color combo can turn out to be a new favorite. This time, it’s Mango Melody and Rich Razzleberry.

Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Fold Flat Fancy Fold, Butterfly Gala, Stampin' Up!

And of course I had to use that fabulous Country Floral Embossing Folder. WOW, does that add a lot of texture and interest. And did you notice the embellishments? Those sweet little jewels are our Frosted & Clear Epoxy Droplets. And guess what – they will carry over to the new catalog. Woohoo!!

Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Fold Flat Fancy Fold, Butterfly Gala, Stampin' Up!

With the flat fold card, you have lots of room on the reverse side not only to write your message, but stamp, color and embellish even more. I call that a win-win.  I’m featuring the Butterfly Gala bundle and the Beauty Abounds stamp set in the flat fold card. Both will carry over, but don’t wait, be sure to get them before June 4th, so that you can save 10% with the bundle discount.

Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Fold Flat Fancy Fold, Butterfly Gala, Stampin' Up!

In the pic above you can see that the flat fold card is constructed with just two main pieces of card stock. It’s the scoring and fold that do all the work. I invite you to take a moment to view my video tutorial to see how easy the flat fold card is to create.

Here’s how the magic happens.

Hold on to Hope Encouragement Card

Hold on to Hope Encouragement Card

Do you have a friend or family member that needs a little encouragement? The Hold on to Hope stamp set and Cross of Hope Framelits will help you create beautiful cards of encouragement. This card design was featured in my most recent Facebook Live. If you are free next Sunday at 7pm (CST), I would love to have you join us.

Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Hold on to Hope Encouragement Card, Stampin' Up!

In this card, I incorporated our lovely Tea Room Specialty Designer Series Paper. The colors are cheerful and the patterns have a vintage feel. My color combination came from the colors in the lovely DSP. I chose Very Vanilla, Coastal Cabana and Crushed Curry. The Hold on to Hope stamp set has so many lovely images including some beautiful sentiments.

Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Hold on to Hope Encouragement Card, Stampin' Up!

For my Hold on to Hope encouragement card, I decided to hand cut the image so I could dress it up with our beautiful Very Vanilla Lace Trim.

Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Hold on to Hope Encouragement Card, Stampin' Up!

I think that small detail added so much to this card. And those sweet little flowers were punched from Crushed Curry with the Bitty Blooms Punch Pack. Those little punches are worth their weight in gold. They add so much to any project. They’ve been a very popular item and are currently on backorder. But, don’t let that confuse you. You can still order it and just as soon as they hit the warehouse, you’ll get yours shipped.

Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Hold on to Hope Encouragement Card, Stampin' Up!

To finish off the sentiment, I stamped on the inside mat. Creating a two-tone effect with one ink pad is easy. Just stamp off the vine image on a scrap of paper and then the second generation stamping on your mat.

Sometimes, it’s easier to see things first hand. That’s why I filmed this video tutorial for you.

Here’s how the magic happens:

  • Card Base – Thick Very Vanilla CS – 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored @ 5 1/2″
  • Mat – Crushed Curry CS – 4″ x 5 1/4″
  • Inside Mat – Very Vanilla CS – 4″ x 5 1/4″
  • DSP Mat – Tea Room Specialty DSP – 3 3/4″ x 5″
  • Side Mat – Very Vanilla CS – 2″ x 4 3/4″ and Tea Room Specialty DSP – 1 3/4″ x 4 1/2″
  • Focal Mat – Crushed Curry CS – 2 1/2″ x 2″ and Very Vanilla CS – 2 1/4″ x 1 3/4″, emboss with the Country Floral Embossing Folder.
  • Stamped Images – Very Vanilla CS – 8 1/2″ x 4 1/4″, With the stamps from Hold on to Hope, stamp two of the vine images in Coastal Cabana, two of the butterflies in Coastal Cabana, one butterfly in Crushed Curry and the sentiment in Coastal Cabana. With the Cross of Hope Framelits, cut out the vines and butterflies. Hand cut the sentiment.

Wonderful Romance Spring Card

Hooray!! It’s finally Spring here in New Orleans!! Time for a Spring Card. Today was a glorious day, blue skies, no humidity, and wonderful sunshine.  I even picked some roses from my garden and planted my Sweet Basil today. Can’t wait to make my first batch of Pesto. Ok, back to card making. Can you tell I have Spring Fever? Don’t you just love the look of the embossed vellum on this card? The texture, richness and subtle delicate look screams Spring to me.

Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Spring Card with Wonderful Romance, Stampin' Up!

The Floral Romance Specialty Vellum is the star of this Spring Card. I chose the Petal Pink sheet and ran it through the Big Shot with the Lace Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Oh my goodness, ti turned out so lovely.

Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Spring Card with Wonderful Romance, Stampin' Up!

The embellishments in the suite are elegant. The Petal Pink/Whisper White 5/8″ Variegated Ribbon has been so popular. Don’t miss adding a roll to your stash.

Florentine Background with Butterfly Gala

Florentine Background with Butterfly Gala

I just love it when Stampin’ UP! offers large background dies. And the Florentine Thinlit Die did not disappoint. It’s more than just a die cut though. You could die cut the Florentine Thinlit and use it whole, in pieces, as a stencil and in any color you would like.

Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Florentine Thinlit, Stampin' Up!

Break out those watercolor pencils because you just won’t believe how easy it is to create the beautiful background behind the Florentine Thinlit.

Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Florentine Thinlit, Stampin' Up!

Because of the awesome color coordination in the Stampin’ Up! products, each element in the card matches. The color in the pencils, inks and papers are all the same. That makes creating a breeze.

Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Florentine Thinlit, Stampin' Up!

I hope you can appreciate the dimension of the “friend” die cut sitting on that gorgeous Florentine Thinlit. I cut three images with the Well Written framelit, stacked them together, so that I would achieve a more substantial look. Can you believe it? In that bundle there are twenty-four dies and fifty-one stamps. WOW!!!

Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Florentine Thinlit, Stampin' Up!

I knew I wanted the inside of this card to be special, so I’ve added some heat embossing. The sentiments in the Strong & Beautiful stamp set are lovely. Be sure to check that one out. In my FREE video tutorial I’ll show you how easy the Florentine Thinlit is to use. Enjoy!
