Time to spoil our friends at the Riverbend Nursing Home.  This year’s Community Service Project is going to be fabulous.  I have gathered a very talented group of volunteers who will be helping me with this project.  We will be creating 146 ornaments this Saturday, along with Christmas cards and gift boxes for each of the residents at the Home.

Every year I can’t wait for the Holiday catalog to debut.  The first thing I look for is a bundle that I can use for our Community Service Project.  This year, I was lucky enough to win the Detailed Baubles set during a prize patrol on the Stampin’ Up! Alaskan Cruise.  That did it for me, it was so beautiful. I knew I could design an ornament that would make a fabulous show on their tree.

To start things off I selected my color palette, Call Me Clover, Real Red, Whisper White and Gold.  To give the leaves a little more texture and depth, I inked them in Call Me Clover.  Then I stamped them in Call Me Clover with the flourish stamp from Timeless Textures.  To give the leaves a little more sense of movement, I twisted each petal with my tweezers.  I love that look.

I just have to share a cute story from my WOW Club Ladies.  They all love the new Sprig Punch.  And after punching almost 600 images for this project, they have nicknamed the punch, spriggy!  I think that is so stinkin’ cute.  My Club Members, as well as some of my WOW Team Members are some of my volunteers for this project. I appreciate each and every hour they dedicate to this Community Service Project. We punched two gold and two red sprigs for each ornament, along with four leaf sets from the leaf punch.  I thought that combination made a lovely focal image at the top of the ornament.

To be sure the detailed red ornament would spin in the center of the ring, we had to cut two of each element. But, before we cut those detailed ornaments, we made sure to back the card stock with our multipurpose adhesive sheets.  In that way, we wouldn’t have to worry about getting glue all over that beautiful gold foil paper. Now we had stickers!

Would you like to create one of these lovely ornaments for your tree this year?  I’ld love to teach you how to do just that.  Here’s my FREE video tutorial, early Merry Christmas!

Here’s how the magic happens.
