Break out those Stampin’ Blends! Did you know you can color designer series paper? That’s just want I did on the beautiful Come to Gather DSP. Because the Blends are alcohol based, blending is a breeze.

A rich Fall color palette was perfect for my Gather Together card. I chose Cajun Craze, Pretty Peacock and Whisper White. Stamping with hints of Early Espresso enhanced the richness of this card.

Fanciful Fragrance Vintage Thank You Card

Fanciful Fragrance Vintage Thank You Card

Hi! Thanks for stopping by. I don’t know about you, but I need a LOT of thank you cards. And, I like to make them special. When I saw the sentiments in the Fanciful Fragrance set I knew I wanted to create a vintage style thank you.

Fanciful Fragrance Thank You Card

Every so often, I host a card swap for my team. This card was my swap. My team is so talented and I loved all the cards they created. Be sure to visit my next blog post where I’ll showcase all the swaps. They truly are fabulous. In the meantime, let me share some other details about my Fanciful Fragrance vintage style thank you card.

Fanciful Fragrance Thank You Card

If you visit often, you know I love texture and layering. Not sure if you can see it, but I even embossed the Garden Lane DSP with our Tufted embossing folder. It reminds me of a vintage quilt. Love it!

Fanciful Fragrance Thank You Card

WOW, those perfume bottles are so lovely. All the images in this card are stamped in Soft Suede. The coloring was super easy with our Stampin’ Blends. I used the light shade in both Petal Pink and Mint Macaron. I’ll bet you are adding the Fanciful Fragrance set on your wish list right now, aren’t you? Be sure to check out my previous post that also uses elements from this set.

Fanciful Fragrance Thank You Card

The sentiment was die cut with the die from Petal Labels. That lacy edge was just the ticket to bring all the elements together. And of course I had to add a little bling.

Fanciful Fragrance Thank You Card

To finish things off, I added a little stamping to the inside of the card. Don’t you just love the way those two sentiments compliment each other. I sure do. How would you like a video tutorial on this one?

Here’s how the magic happens.

  • Card Base – Thick Very Vanilla – 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
  • Mat – Soft Suede CS – 5 1/4″ x 3 1/4″
  • DSP Mat – Garden Lane DSP – 5″ x 3″, embossed with the Tufted embossing folder

Tasteful Backgrounds Thank You

Tasteful Backgrounds Thank You

Can’t get enough of the beautiful dies in the Tasteful Backgrounds set. Today is the second card using not just those dies, but the fabulous Pigment Sprinkles. Be sure you don’t miss my previous card. It’s a fancy fold. But today, the absolutely gorgeous mediallon image is the star of the show.

Tasteful Backgrounds, Pigment Sprinkles, Stampin' Up!

My color combo is Daffodil Delight, Bermuda Bay and Whisper White. It’s a fresh, summery look that just plain makes me happy.

Tasteful Backgrounds, Pigment Sprinkles, Stampin' Up!

Who knew that the new Scripty Embossing Folder would very quickly become a favorite. But I have to say, on this card, that gorgeous medallion shows off those pigment sprinkles brilliantly.

Tasteful Backgrounds, Pigment Sprinkles, Stampin' Up!

WOW, just look how dramatic the die cut is using the Tasteful Backgrounds set. Not to mention, that vibrant colors from the Pigment Sprinkles. Psst, did you notice the polka dot tulle ribbon is Daffodil Delight. I’ve got a sweet little technique to share with you in today’s FREE video tutorial.

Tasteful Backgrounds, Pigment Sprinkles, Stampin' Up!

Because I used fun foam to cut my “thanks” with the die from Well Written, it created even more dimension and texture. The fun foam is great because it doesn’t add any bulk or weight to the card. Why is that important? No extra postage necessary!

Want to learn a little more about my card? My video tutorial should help you out.

  • Card Base – Thick Whisper White CS – 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″

Bloom by Bloom Thank You

Bloom by Bloom Thank You

Whose ready for another happy card? You can’t help but smile and be happy when you stamp with the Bloom by Bloom set. The images are bold, easy to stamp and make the perfect backgrounds.

Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Bloom by Bloom, Stampin' Up!

Be sure to check out the backer boards on your DSP packs. There you will find a list of all the coordinating colors. That’s a good place to start when choosing a color palette.  For this card, I used Whisper White, Call Me Clover, Calypso Coral and Night of Navy.

Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Bloom by Bloom, Stampin' Up!

The large floral image made the perfect focal image for this card.  Yes, I did have to fussy cut it, but really it was quick and easy. To dress up the sides of the DSP, I used the border die in the Be Mine Stitched Framelits. That little die is worth it’s weight in gold.

Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Bloom by Bloom, Stampin' Up!

Using my Dark Pineapple Punch Blend, I colored the pearls to highlight the top of the flower.  Pretty cute, if I say so myself. And that gorgeous Night of Navy Gingham Ribbon tied everything together in more ways than one.

Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Bloom by Bloom, Stampin' Up!

The Bloom by Bloom set doesn’t have any sentiments. So, I went to the Strong & Beautiful set to gather those. To finish off the inside of the card I stamped the greeting and another flower, this one smaller than the focal flower.

I featured this card in a Facebook Live. I would love to have you join in the fun next time. Be sure to like and follow my page. Who knows, maybe you could win a  prize. I go Live on Sunday evenings at 7pm (CST).

Here’s how the magic happens.

  • Card Base – Thick Whisper White CS – 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″
  • Mat – Call Me Clover CS – 4″ x 5 1/4″, scatter stamp, different images from the set, in Call Me Clover.
  • Focal Mat – Calypso Coral CS – 4″ x 3″
  • DSP Mat – Happiness Blooms DSP – 3 3/4″ x 2 1/2″

Polished Stone Technique Climbing Roses

Polished Stone Technique Climbing Roses

Have you heard of the Polished Stone Technique? It’s an oldie, but goodie and so quick and easy you’ll want to crate a whole batch of backgrounds for your next card making session.

Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Polished Stone Technique, Climbing Roses, Stampin' Up!

My color combo is Highland Heather, Pool Party and Blackberry Bliss.  By heat embossing the gorgeous floral image from the Climbing Roses set, it took this card to the next level. Because each card is different, you’ll really have fun with this technique.

Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Polished Stone Technique, Climbing Roses, Stampin' Up!

Why is it called polished stone? Doesn’t the finished product remind you of a slab of marble? I think so. And this is yet another way of “coloring” that big floral image without using markers, making it very quick and easy.

Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Polished Stone Technique, Climbing Roses, Stampin' Up!

I love finishing off the inside of my cards.  The trellis die cut was trimmed and used both on the front and inside of the card. That’s the perfect way to use up every smidge of your die cuts.

Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Polished Stone Technique, Climbing Roses, Stampin' Up!

I hope you can see the sparkle on both the butterfly element and the leaves under that lovely little bow.  I used Wink of Stella to add just the right amount of bling.

Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Polished Stone Technique, Climbing Roses, Stampin' Up!

The little detail on the sentiment was done with a 1/2″ circle punch.  You can use that little technique on any size sentiment. Would you like to learn more about that and the polished stone technique?  I’ve filmed a video tutorial to show you how.

Here’s how the magic happens.

  • Card Base – Blackberry Bliss CS – 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
  • Mat – Pool Party CS – 4″ x 5 1/4″
  • Polished Stone Mat – Glossy White CS – 3 3/4″ x 5″
  • Trellis Die Cut – Blackberry Bliss CS – 2 1/2″ x 5″
  • Sentiment – Whisper White CS – 2 1/4″ x 1″
  • Leaves – Pool Party CS – 1 1/2″ x 2″
  • Inside Mat – Whisper White CS – 5 1/4″ x 4″
  • Small Rose – Whisper White CS – 2″ x 2″
  • Ribbon – Highland Heather 1/4″ Organdy – about 8″

If you need any supplies to complete the project, I would appreciate you shopping my online stone.
