Spooky Festive Corners Technique Card

Spooky Festive Corners Technique Card

Trick or Treat time! Let’s create a spooky Festive Corners Halloween card. I’ll even add in a few techniques to make this one a little special.

Spooky Festive Corners, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

Have you seen the new Water Painters on page 147 of Stampin’ Up!’s Annual Catalog? I LOVE THEM, especially the wide tip brush. Because I used that one, with a little Pretty Peacock ink, it was easy to create a fabulous watercolor wash background.

Spooky Festive Corners, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

Another fabulous tool, you might want to add to your stash, are the Basic Pattern Decorative Masks. There are four masks to a package and it’s only $6. You can create lots of different backgrounds with very little effort. I applied my color through the mask with a make-up brush. It blends like butter and you can get them just about anywhere.

Spooky Festive Corners, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

Ok that’s two techniques so far. The next one is that ribbon zig-zag added behind the sentiment. The Glittered Organdy Ribbon is a returning favorite and now you can see why.  Think outside the box, it’s useful for lots of other designs. It’s not just for Halloween.

Spooky Festive Corners, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

Because I cut three of the bats from the Halloween Magic die set, in the new Black Glitter Paper, they added to the design, without being too spooky.

Spooky Festive Corners, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

Bringing the stenciling inside the card added to the eerie Halloween feeling. But, the color is soft enough so that you can add your handwritten Halloween joke, quote or message. Want to see these techniques in action? Here you go, another FREE video tutorial.

Here’s how the magic happens.

Woodland Embossing Folder Technique

Woodland Embossing Folder Technique

Need a quick and easy Christmas card? Do you love techniques? Place the Woodland Embossing Folder on your next order and create along with me.  You’ll love this easy technique that packs the WOW factor!!

Woodland Embossing Folder Technique, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

I’ve got even more good news. Coming soon, September 1st to be exact, my customers can order the brand spankin’ new Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. Watch this short Stampin’ Up! video that highlights the machine’s features.

Mark you calendar to be one of the first to order yours. Purchase it, from my online store, on the 1st of September and I’ll throw in an embossing folder of your choice for FREE!! Just a litle thank you from me.

So what sets our machine apart from the rest?

Here are some of our favorite features:

  • Durable machine with high-quality results. The solid steel construction frame and rubber feet that securely grip the work surface produce crisp, clean, precise cutting and beautifully detailed embossing.
  • Easy to use. The machine and tools are designed for an intuitive die-cutting and embossing experience. For example, all plates are labeled with a number and are color coded for easy reference and use when building your sandwich. And just like the name suggests, our Magnetic Cutting Plates have fully-magnetic surfaces to make it easy to securely position your dies and keep them in place.
  • Simple to store. The platforms on both machines fold for space-saving storage and they look pretty too–the sleek, clean design suits any crafting space.
  • Portable. You can use both machines at home or on the go with their folding platforms and ergonomic carrying handles. This makes it easy to showcase the product line in your classes and workshops! It’s also convenient for your customers who like to attend crops or other crafting get togethers.

Ok, back to today’s project. I am excited to share the Woodland Embossing Folder technique with you.

Woodland Embossing Folder Technique, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

By simply inking the Woodland Embossing Folder with your ink pad, you are able to lay down some background color. Next we are going to do some stampin’ on the folder. Yep, that’s right, right on the surface of the folder. That will give the illusion of the large pine trees in the background.

Woodland Embossing Folder Technique, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

Finally, just insert your cardstock in the folder and run it through the Cut and Emboss Machine. Voila, you’ve just created your first Woodland Embossing Folder Technique.

Woodland Embossing Folder Technique, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

To finish things off, I’ve added a few adhesive backed snowflakes and a bit of the Snowflake Splendor Ribbon.  Lots of sparkle and interest with very little effort.

Here’s how the magic happens.

  • Card Base – Thick Whisper White CS – 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
  • Mat – Shaded Spruce CS – 4″ x 5 1/4″
  • Embossed Mat – Whisper White CS – 3 3/4″ x 5″, ink the Woodland Embossing Folder with the Balmy Blue ink pad. Stamp the pine tree from the Winter Woods set in Shaded Spruce. Insert the paper in the folder and run through the die cutting machine.

Nothing’s Better Than Fun Technique Card

Nothing’s Better Than Fun Technique Card

Welcome! Time for a fun, vibrant card with the Nothing’s Better Than bundle.  Have you seen that stinkin’ cute set on page 91 of the Annual Stampin’ Up! Catalog?

Nothing's Better Than, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

Because I used the Artistry Blooms DSP, the color palette is bright and fun. Magenta Madness is a new in-color that’s almost a neon, but not quite. To me, it’s just a happy color.

Nothing's Better Than, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

I think this set has a very retro feel. First of all, the Nothing’s Better Than font is perfect.  Seems like a set June Cleaver (you know, Leave it to Beaver star), would have designed. At least, that’s my story, and I’m sticking to it.

Nothing's Better Than, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

Sequins without holes, genius! Seems like Stampin’ Up! heard me. The Artistry Blooms sequins don’t have any of those pesky holes. They are the perfect bling for this card. Another great product addition is the new Adhesive Sheets.

Nothing's Better Than, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

Now, you’ll be able to pop-up those word die cuts, quick and easy. By backing your card stock with the sheet, you can create a dimensional sticker. Therefore, it’s easy to adhere the die cut to your project.

Nothing's Better Than, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

I can see incorporating the Nothing’s Better Than bundle into lots of projects to come. But, today, I’ld love to share my video tutorial with you guys. Hope you enjoy!

Here’s how the magic happens.

  • Card Base – Magenta Madness CS – 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored @ 5 1/2″
  • Mat – Whisper White CS – 4″ x 5 1/4″, embossed with the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder.

WOW Team Challenge In Colors

WOW Team Challenge In Colors

It’s WOW Team Challenge Time! For the month of June, I challenged my WOW Team to use any of the 2020-2022 In Colors. And boy oh boy, did they do just that. Today’s card was designed by WOW Team Member, Helene Hebert with As You Wysh Card Designs.

In Colors Challenge, Helene Hebert, As You Wysh Card Designs

Gorgeous, right? Helene incorporated not only one of the  beautiful new in colors, but lots of texture, interest and a couple techniques. Since she is the winner of June’s WOW Team Challenge, I’m CASEing her card today. Here’s my version. You’ve got to give this one a try. I had so much fun.

In Colors WOW Team Challenge, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

Helene used some tone on tone stamping with the new Misty Moonlight in color on the base mat. She stamped that with the Textured Essentials stamp set. That set is a must-have. It will create lovely texture and interest in any of your designs.

In Colors WOW Team Challenge, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

Coloring the beautiful flower was easy, using the Stampin’ Blends in Misty Moonlight and Seaside Spray. I couldn’t resist adding a little Wink of Stella as well.

In Colors WOW Team Challenge, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

Helene is known for her use of Vellum cardstock in her designs. Because the die set has couple of sweet little flowers, she used that to add some embellishments.

In Colors WOW Team Challenge, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

I’m not sure how Helene finished off the inside of her card, but I’ve added that gorgeous flower. This time, 2nd generation with a sentiment on top.

In Colors WOW Team Challenge, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!
