Want it all? I sure did! That’s why, when I ordered the Poinsettia Place Suite, I entered one item number to fill my shopping cart. Talk about quick and easy ordering. So happy that Stampin’ Up! started providing that ordering option. In today’s card, I challenged myself to incorporate some of each element of the suite into one card.

Poinsettia Place Suite, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

Because I decided on a Real Red card base, that gorgeous Plush Poinsettia Specialty Paper really pops. Not only do I love the look, but the feel is pretty impressive.

Poinsettia Place Suite, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

I’ll bet you’ll want multiples of the Poinsettia Place DSP. The pages are filled with poinsettias, pine cones and holly. By creating a Bumble Bee watercolor wash, on the stitched circle, I was able to ground the die cut poinsettia and all the pretties.

I couldn’t bring myself to waste one smidge of the Plush Poinsettia Specialty Paper, so I added a leftover strip to the inside of my card. Watch how quick and easy this elegant card comes together.

Here’s how the magic happens.

Spooky Festive Corners Technique Card

Spooky Festive Corners Technique Card

Trick or Treat time! Let’s create a spooky Festive Corners Halloween card. I’ll even add in a few techniques to make this one a little special.

Spooky Festive Corners, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

Have you seen the new Water Painters on page 147 of Stampin’ Up!’s Annual Catalog? I LOVE THEM, especially the wide tip brush. Because I used that one, with a little Pretty Peacock ink, it was easy to create a fabulous watercolor wash background.

Spooky Festive Corners, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

Another fabulous tool, you might want to add to your stash, are the Basic Pattern Decorative Masks. There are four masks to a package and it’s only $6. You can create lots of different backgrounds with very little effort. I applied my color through the mask with a make-up brush. It blends like butter and you can get them just about anywhere.

Spooky Festive Corners, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

Ok that’s two techniques so far. The next one is that ribbon zig-zag added behind the sentiment. The Glittered Organdy Ribbon is a returning favorite and now you can see why.  Think outside the box, it’s useful for lots of other designs. It’s not just for Halloween.

Spooky Festive Corners, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

Because I cut three of the bats from the Halloween Magic die set, in the new Black Glitter Paper, they added to the design, without being too spooky.

Spooky Festive Corners, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

Bringing the stenciling inside the card added to the eerie Halloween feeling. But, the color is soft enough so that you can add your handwritten Halloween joke, quote or message. Want to see these techniques in action? Here you go, another FREE video tutorial.

Here’s how the magic happens.

  • Card Base – Cajun Craze CS – 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
  • Mats – Blackberry Bliss CS – two @ 4″ x 5 1/4″, emboss one with the Cobwebs 3D Embossing Folder.
  • Focal Mat – Pretty Peacock CS – 3 1/2″ x 4 1/2″

Festive Corners Flip Fold Christmas Card

Festive Corners Flip Fold Christmas Card

Welcome!! I’ve got a great card to share with you today. Festive Corners is a stamp set that will take you through multiple seasons and holidays. Those include Christmas, Halloween and Valentine’s Day. Today’s project we’ll use the set to create a super cute flip fold Christmas card.

Festive Corners Flip Fold, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

Because the flip fold is so easy to master, you’ll be creating multiples in no time flat.  You’ll need a ruler and one easy measurement. In my video tutorial, I’ll even show you how to get the two DSP mats to fit perfectly.

Festive Corners Flip Fold, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

Dressing up the Festive Corners flip fold with the sweet die cut from the Ornate Borders die set added even more of a WOW factor with very little effort. If you are in the market for a new die cutting machine, I’ve got the perfect one for you.  Stampin’ Up! has just launched the new Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. Did I mention, it cuts like a dream!

Festive Corners Flip Fold, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

Who knew I would be reaching for that sweet Wreath Builder die set so much? This time, I cut the wreath from Mossy Meadow cardstock, spritzed it with Champagne Shimmer Mist and used it to frame my sentiment.

Festive Corners Flip Fold, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

And the star of the show, in my opinion, is the Festive Corners stamp set. I used my Stamparatus, to achieve perfect placement and a deep rich stamped image. Positioing the sentiment in the corner and while maximizing the flip fold, it allowed that cute peek-a-boo feature. Watch how easy the flip fold is to create.

Here’s how the magic happens.

  • Card Base – Real Red CS – 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″. Measure from the top right to 3 1/2″ and place a tick mark. Next, measure from the top right to the lower right to 3 1/2″ and place a tick mark. Place the card base on the trimmer platform, lining up the tick marks in the track. Score from tick to tick. This will form you flip fold.
  • Inside Mat – Whisper White CS – 4″ x 5 1/4″, stamp the Festive Corners sentiment in the upper right corner in Mossy Meadow ink.
  • Inside Accent Strip – Heartwarming Hugs DSP – 3/4″ x 4″
  • DSP Mats – Heartwarming Hugs DSP – 4″ x 5 1/4″. Be sure to check out the technique in my video tutorial to cut the mats just right!
  • Scallop Trim – Whisper White CS – 1″ x 6 1/2″, cut with the die from Ornate Borders die set.
  • Circle – Whisper White CS – 2 3/4″ x 2 3/4″, cut with the die from the Layering Circles die set. Stamp the senitment in Real Red and the leaves in Mossy Meadow. Color the berries with a Real Red marker.
  • Wreath – Mossy Meadow CS – 4″ x 4″, cut with the die from the Wreath Builder die set. Spritz with Champagne Shimmer Mist.
  • Red Rhinestones – 3

Theater Style Fancy Fold

Theater Style Fancy Fold

Do you enjoy creating unique cards? Well, today I’ve got a fancy fold I think you will enjoy. It’s the theater style fancy fold. It’s like opening a curtain to a scene. This time, our scene is all about Christmas.

Theater Style Fancy Fold, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

WOW! It’s pretty easy to create beautiful cards when you have gorgeous papers to work with. The Feels Like Frost DSP stack is a returning favorite in our Aug-Dec Mini Catalog. There is beautiful photograpic imagery on one side and hand-drawn designs with silver foil on the other. It was the perfect choice for my theater style fancy fold. Here’s the card with the “curtains closed”.

Theater Style Fancy Fold, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

Because I’ve created little finger pull notches on either side of the frame, the receipient has a cue. Pull the exposed edges of the next layer and voila, you have your theater style fancy fold in all it’s glory.

Theater Style Fancy Fold, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

Traditional style Christmas images form the Wishes & Wonder bundle really enhance the scene. Coloring was made easy with Stampin’ Blends. Alcohol markers are a fabulous coloring medium because you can create shadows and blending without streaks.

Theater Style Fancy Fold, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

There’s even an area on the back of the theater style fancy fold to create a mat for a sentiment and handwritten message. Someone will be displaying this one on the mantle this year. But wait, there’s more. You can create another card using the “negative” from the rectangle frame.

Wishes & Wonder, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

I couldn’t waste that beautiful scene, so I’ve used it in a second card. Gotta love that, right? Sit back and relax and I’ll share with you how easy the theater style fancy fold comes together.

Here’s how the magic happens.

  • Card Base – Smoky Slate CS – four pieces 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″. Tip – just cut your 8 1/2″ x 11″ piece of card stock in half and then in half once again. On he 5 1/2″ side, score two of the pieces @ 1 3/8″ and 2 3/4″. These will become your sliders.
