What makes this fancy fold so fabulous is that it truly is not difficult.  There is a couple of easy score lines and trimming, but you know I’ll walk you through all that. But, if you aren’t into creating the hidden tags fancy fold, you could create a traditional card with this layout.

Peaceful Poppies Hidden Tags Fancy Fold, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

The gorgous Peaceful Moments Designer Series Paper wil do most of the work for you. In that one sheet of 12″ x 12″ DSP, you could create six cards. But, save that second sheet to give the fancy fold a try. I think you will enjoy it.

Peaceful Poppies Hidden Tags Fancy Fold, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

My card base is thick Whisper White. You’ll need an entire sheet to form the card front and back, as well as the inside fold.  But what a fabulous way to show off all that yummy paper!

Peaceful Poppies Hidden Tags Fancy Fold, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

I just love the idea of the hidden tags.  I’ll bet whoever receives this card will smile as they pull the tags. Each reveals a special message.

No need to color the poppies, you can just pick your favorite color combo and cut with the dies in the Poppy Moments set. Mosaic Mood Thank You with WOW Card Sketch #2

Welcome everyone! So happy that you’re stopping by my blog today. Time to switch gears from Christmas to Thank You. With the gorgeous Mosaic Mood Specialty DSP you’ll be creating beautiful cards in no time at all. Today, I’ll feature a quick and easy thank you card with my WOW Card Sketch #2.

Mosaic Mood with WOW Card Sketch #2, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

Where can you find this lovely paper? In the 2019-2020 Annual Stampin’ Up! Catalog of course.  Sometimes we get all caught up in the recent mini catalog and forget how many beautiful items offered in that publication.  Here’s a closer look at the paper patterns included in the Mosaic Mood DSP.

Are you ready to see how I used this beautiful paper in my design? First off, I chose a color combination of Mint Macaron, Terracotta Tile and Very Vanilla.  It’s a soft and soothing palette.

Mosaic Mood with WOW Card Sketch #2, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

It’s truly easy to create cards with a card sketch. Be sure to use it as inspiration to get those creative juices flowing. You can also check out my Christmas card with this sketch.

Mosaic Mood with WOW Card Sketch #2, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

Creating the focal image was very easy. I just fussy cut the butterflies and rose from the Mosaic Mood DSP.  Using my Wink of Stella, I splattered shimmery droplets onto the entire card front.  I wish you could see this one in person, it’s truly magical.  But wait, you can create one of your very own, right?

Mosaic Mood with WOW Card Sketch #2, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

The beautiful branch leaf stamp from Very Versailles is a DistINKive stamp. That means you’ll get highlights and lowlights in just one stamping motion. I would love to share this card with you through my video tutorial.  Hope you enjoy it. I would love to get your feedback.

Here’s how the magic happens.

  • Card Base – Mint Macaron CS – 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″. The card will fold on the left. Stamp the upper left hand side with the leaf stamp from Very Versailles in Mint Macaron.

Peaceful Boughs with WOW Card Sketch #2

Peaceful Boughs with WOW Card Sketch #2

By popular demand, I’ve designed WOW Card Sketch #2 to share with you. Creating Christmas cards just got a whole lot easier with the Peaceful Boughs bundle.  This beautiful set, with coordinating dies, can be found in the Holiday Catalog on page 15. Only a month left to order, but items are while supplies last. Don’t miss out.

Peaceful Boughs with WOW Card Sketch #2, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

I received so many requests to incorporate a card sketch series both here and on my YouTube Channel. So, here’s our WOW Card Sketch #2.

WOW Card Sketch #2, 2019, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

Just remember, the sketch is to inspire. You can tweak it, add a layer, or you can use as is.  Be sure to post your creation on my WOW NOLA Creations Facebook Page. Your name will be entered on the prize wheel. Be sure to read the post for all the rules. Now, let’s take a closer look at the sweet Peaceful Boughs Christmas card created with this sketch.

Peaceful Boughs with WOW Card Sketch #2, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

Once I had the sketch nailed down, my next decision was a color scheme. I choice colors from the Wrapped in Plaid Specialty Designer Series Paper.  Because I love rich warm colors, my palette includes Night of Navy, Shaded Spruce, Cherry Cobbler, Gold and a bit of Whisper White.

Peaceful Boughs with WOW Card Sketch #2, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

Dry embossing adds so much to a project. This time, the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder added just the right amount of texture to the Shaded Spruce mat. I think it really made the boughs pop. Next step was to complete the inside of the card.

Peaceful Boughs with WOW Card Sketch #2, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

Having fabulous large greetings, like the one in the Peaceful Boughs set, helps to finish things off.  I stamped it in Night of Navy and added just a strip of the Wrapped in Plaid DSP. I’ve got a video tutorial for you as well. Enjoy!!

Here’s how the magic happens.

  • Card Base – Night of Navy CS – 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″. The card will fold on the left.
  • Designer Series Paper Mat – Wrapped in Plaid Specialty DSP – 4″ x 4″

Frosted Foliage Technique Card

Frosted Foliage Technique Card

Do you love techiques? Would you like to learn how to use your vellum, Shimmery Crystal Effects and Ice Stampin’ Glitter to the MAX? Well, I think my Frosted Foliage technique card is for you!

Frosted Foliage Technique Card, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stamin' Up!

The beautiful frosty focal image was created with our vellum card stock. I’ve got a trick on adhering it to the gorgeous Feels Like Frost DSP. Psst, it’s all in the video below!! But first, I would love to share the snowflake technique with you. Look how sparkly and dimensional these are.

Frosted Foliage Technique Card, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stamin' Up!

Use the die in the Frosted Foliage bundle to cut some snowflakes out of Whisper White CS. Liberally spread your Shimmery Crystal Effects on the surface.  Next, run to the kitchen and grab a coffee filter. Yep, a coffee filter, you’ll thank me later. Dump a little of your Ice Stampin’ Glitter in the coffee filter and press the surface of the snowflake in the glitter, picking up lots of that chunky goodness. Once you’re done with all your snowflakes, just pour the glitter back in the pot. No waste and you’ve contained the glitter. Your welcome!!

Frosted Foliage Technique Card, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stamin' Up!

Be sure to finish off the inside of your card and the envelope with some quick and easy stamping.  Using three generations of stamping, you’ll achieve different tones of the same color.

Frosted Foliage Technique Card, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stamin' Up!

And the last technique for this one – how to achieve a Night of Navy embossed sentiment without that particular color embossing powder. All you need is your clear embossing powder. It’s that easy.  Come on in my studio and I’ll show you how.

Okay, what are you waiting for? Don’t you want to jump in and try these techniques?

Here’s how the magic happens.

  • Card Base – Night of Navy CS – 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″
  • Mat – Whisper White CS – 4″ x 5 1/4″
  • DSP Mat – Feels Like Frost Specialty DSP – 3 3/4″ x 5″
