Strong & Beautiful

Strong & Beautiful

Welcome! I’m pretty proud of the project I’ve got to share with you today. My inspiration was the Strong & Beautiful stamp set, which has so many lovely positive messages. The gorgeous papers in the Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper pack coordinated beautifully.  And then the magic happened, when I laid a sheet of the Delightfully Detailed Laser Cut Paper on top. Voila!

Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Strong & Beautiful Frame, Stampin' Up!

Did you know that you can earn both of those gorgeous paper packs for FREE during the remaining days of Sale-a-Bratoin 2019?  Place a $50 order (before tax and shipping) and you can earn either one.

Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Strong & Beautiful Frame, Stampin' Up!

Each of the sweet little blocks on the framed piece are also part of the Petal Promenade papers. Isn’t it lovely? Just cut the blocks into 3″ x 3″ squares and you’re ready to start creating each little vignette. Can’t get any easier than that.

Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Strong & Beautiful Frame, Stampin' Up!

And my color combination came from the papers of course. I used Petal Pink, Grapefruit Grove, Highland Heather, Smoky Slate and Whisper White. I just love the softness and elegance.

Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Strong & Beautiful Frame, Stampin' Up!

My butterflies were stamped using the Beautiful Gala set. It’s so easy to create whatever colors you want, because there are stamps to fill in the color as well. I’ll bet you are dying to create one of these for someone very special in your life. I’ve created three so far, one for a very dear friend, one for my daughter and of course one for my Mom. I would love to share the process with you and have filmed a tutorial so you can create right along with me.

Amazing Gift Bag

Amazing Gift Bag

Do you want to be the hit of the party? When you present your gift in this amazing gift bag, you sure will be. And the recipient will feel so special because you took the time to create it. They could even cut the lovely amazing bag mat from the bag and frame it!

Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Amazing Gift Bag, Stampin' Up!

My sister, who by the way is one of my WOW Club Members, is having a party next week. And hooray for her, she is the hostess. She asked that I design a gift bag and card for her club night projects. I know her favorite color is purple.  I also knew that Mother’s Day is fast approaching and she loves to give special things to our Mom. That’s where my inspiration started. All of the sentiments in the Strong & Beautiful set spoke to me, so creating this amazing gift bag was a true pleasure.

Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Amazing Gift Bag, Stampin' Up!

If you haven’t already, be sure to check out the Beauty Abounds bundle in our Occasions Catalog. The large butterfly dies don’t always have to be used in one piece. Here, in this amazing gift bag, I cut them apart and used them throughout the design. Pretty nifty, if I say so myself.

Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Amazing Gift Bag, Stampin' Up!

The large swoosh in the set is easy to color. You can use watercolor pencils, Stampin’ Blends or Stampin’ Write Markers.  Since I’m doing this on a club night, and I know everyone doesn’t have one color medium, we are going to use a blender pen with our ink pads.  See, that’s what makes Stampin’ Up! products so great.  Everything coordinates!!!

Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Amazing Gift Bag, Stampin' Up!

Wondering what my color palette is? I’ve used Gorgeous Grape, Pool Party, Garden Green, Early Espresso and Whisper White. And of course, you know me, we have to have some texture. That’s where I brought in a few embossing folders. Remember, that’s an inexpensive way to make things beautiful.

What makes the project even a little more special is that if you don’t want to decorate the bag, with all these wonderful pretties, there is an alternative. You could use the pieces you’ve created to make cards.

Happy Time with Fable Friends

Happy Time with Fable Friends

What’s a Happy, you ask? I have a friend that coined that phrase. It’s a little treat holder you create, to share a little something sweet, with friends and family.  This time our theme is Easter, and the Wood Crate Framelits to the rescue! For this happy, I turned the little crate into an Easter basket.

Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Easter Happy, Fable Friends, Stampin' Up!

When using this die, you’ll need two images. One of the best parts, the die also scores the card stock. I wanted to step it up a notch and ran the images through the Big Shot with the Basket Weave 3D Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. It really gave it an Easter basket look and feel.

Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Easter Happy, Fable Friends, Stampin' Up!

To finish off the basket, I needed a handle. So, I just cut a piece of Crumb Cake card stock 9″ x 1/2″. Because I wanted to dress it up a bit, I also added a strip of the Gingham Gala DSP.

Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Easter Happy, Fable Friends, Stampin' Up!

Don’t you just love the little squirrel holding the sunflower? It reminds me of my backyard. We have very large oak trees and a whole bunch of squirrels.  Every Spring, I plant giant sunflowers and they climb the stalks to get to the sunflower seeds.  It’s all good, I plant so many, I still have my share to bring inside to enjoy.

Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Easter Happy, Fable Friends, Stampin' Up!

I would love to show you how quick and easy this little happy is to create. How about a FREE video tutorial?

Here’s how the magic happens.

  • Crate – Crumb Cake CS – 4 1/4″ x 11″, cut two images using the Wood Crate Die. Run through the Big Shot with the Basket Weave folder.
  • Handle – Crumb Cake CS – 9″ x 1/2″ and Gingham Gala DSP – 6″ x 3/8″
  • Banner – Gingham Gala DSP – 2″ x 3″, stamp sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black, punch the image with the Duet Banner Punch.
  • Scallop Circle – Pineapple Punch CS – 2 3/4″ x 2 3/4″, cut the image with the Layering Circle Framelits.

Easter Gift Bag Fable Friends

Easter Gift Bag Fable Friends

Need something to present all your Easter gifts? I’ve got the perfect idea. A sweet Easter gift bag featuring the Fable Friends stamp set. You’ll be able to put these together in no time at all.

Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Easter Gift Bag, Fable Friends, Stampin' Up!

I was lucky enough to find my gift bag at the Dollar Tree. The color reminded me of our Pineapple Punch.  I know it would be a great beginning to my Easter Gift Bag featuring the Fable Friends set.

Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Easter Gift Bag, Fable Friends, Stampin' Up!

This sweet Easter Gift bag has lots of texture and interest and really shows off the sweet bunny. I colored him with water color pencils as follows: inside ears – Melon Mambo, Jacket – Pacific Point, Bunny – Early Espresso, Buttons – Basic Black.

Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Easter Gift Bag, Fable Friends, Stampin' Up!

Because I love the Stitched Labels dies, I incorporated three of them.  I like the soft stitching and the curvy detail.

Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Easter Gift Bag, Fable Friends, Stampin' Up!

And don’t you think the Gingham Gala DSP and Florentine Thinlit are the perfect backdrop.  I also used a masking technique to achieve the look of the sky and grass behind the bunny. By masking off the bunny, you can avoid getting ink where you don’t want it.  Want to see how I did just that? Here’s another of my FREE video tutorials.

Here’s how the magic happens.

  • Bag – Purchased at the Dollar Tree. They come three to a package. (51/4″ x 8 1/2″
  • Background Mat – Gingham Gala DSP – Balmy Blue – 6″ x 4 1/4″
  • Accent scallops on the DSP – Whisper White cut two @1″ x 6″, cut two with the die from Be Mine Stitched.
  • Background Die – Granny Apple Green CS – 4″ x 5 1/4″, cut with the Florentine Thinlit Die.
  • Focal Image – Balmy Blue CS – 3 1/2″ x 3″, cut with the die from Stitched Labels.
  • Stamped Images – Whisper White CS – 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ – Stamp the bunny and greeting in Memento Tuxedo Black. Die cut the bunny with the Layering Oval frame lit. Die cut the sentiment with the die from Stitched Labels.
  • Sentiment Accent – Balmy Blue CA – 3 14″ x 1 1/4″, cut with the die from Stitched Labels.
  • Use the masking technique shown in the video to add color to the bunny.

Assembly:

  • Pop the bunny image to the large label.
  • Pop the sentiment to the small label.
  • Wet Glue the scallop trim to the upper and lower part of the DSP. Trim as needed.
  • Adhere the DSP mat to the bag.
  • Wet glue the Florentine die cut to the DSP.
  • Pop the bunny/label to the DSP.
  • Pop the Accent piece and sentiment to tDSP.
  • Apply two of the Gingham Gala Adhesive-Backed Sequins to the accent label.
  • Apply a pearl to the center of each of the sequin.

OMG, this one is so quick and easy and takes minimal supplies.  I used the Labels to Love stamp set for my sentiment. I stamped on Whisper White cardstock, then punched with he 1 3/4″ circle punch. To add a little bit of fancy, I punched a starburst from our gorgeous Vellum cardstock.

Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Valentine Treats, Stampin' Up!

That gorgeous ribbon is our Lovely Lipstick stitched ribbon. It ties so pretty and is super soft. You can add any little tag, but this one is a die cut from our Bouquet Bunch dies.

Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Valentine Treats, Stampin' Up!

The super beautiful Lovely Lipstick foil paper makes this treat extra special. The treat bag is our 3″ x 6″ gusseted bag. So Hoppy Valentine Treat

So Hoppy Valentine Treat

I’m always on the lookout for cute Valentine treats. Well, when I was browsing the Dollar Tree, I came across the cutest little chocolate frog. Immediately, I thought about the So Hoppy Together stamp set in the Stampin’ Up! Sale-a-Bration brochure. That little critter would make a stinkin’ cute So Hoppy Valentine Treat!

Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, So Hoppy Valentine Treat, Stampin' Up!

OMG, isn’t this the cutest thing EVER?  I featured this project on my last Facebook Live. Be sure to join me on Sunday evenings at 7pm (CST) where I share what I love. Everyone that tuned in, asked if I would create a blog post for my So Hoppy Valentine Treat. So, here you go.

Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, So Hoppy Valentine Treat, Stampin' Up!

Stampin’ Up! is so on trend. There are little frog related items in every store around. Finding my chocolate treat was the first step, then I had to add all the “pretties” to make him special. I needed a frame for this little guy and our new Rectangle Stitched Framelits came in handy. Did you notice the heart he is holding? It reads “Toadilly Yours”.

Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, So Hoppy Valentine Treat, Stampin' Up!

Because I stamped the frog in Memento Tuxedo Black I was able to use our light and dark Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends to give him some color. It’s really quick and easy coloring.

Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, So Hoppy Valentine Treat, Stampin' Up!

The Happy Valentine’s sentiment from the Meant to Be set, fit perfectly in the heart. That die cut comes from the Be Mine Stitched Hearts. And all those fabulous leaves were die cut with the Tropical  Thinlits set in Granny Apple Green and Shaded Spruce.

Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, So Hoppy Valentine Treat, Stampin' Up!

Then on the backside of my So Hoppy Valentine Treat I added a tag. I just couldn’t discard the stitched rectangle that came from cutting the window in my frame for the front of the treat holder. You want to create one now, don’t you? Mine are going to my grandchildren. Who’s going to get yours? How about a FREE video tutorial with step by step directions? Here you go!

Here’s how the magic happens.

  • Treat Holder Wrap – Blushing Bride CS – two @ 10 3/4″ x 4″ scored on the 10 3/4″ side at 1″.
  • Template – Vellum CS – 4″ x 9 3/4″
