Quick Easy Christmas Gift Card Holder, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

To create my quick and easy Christmas gift card holder I didn’t even use Christmas paper. That’s right, that pretty designer series paper is from the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog. The lovely Garden Lane DSP pack is a great neutral that you will be using for all seasons.

Quick Easy Christmas Gift Card Holder, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

There is even a special place on the inside of the gift card holder to write a message and sign your name.  Can’t get too much better than that. Here’s a quick video to help you get these done in no time at all.

Here’s how the magic happens.

Christmas Snowflake Bow, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

I’ve got some good news and little not so good news news to share though. This gorgeous paper has currently sold out. But, and here is the great news, it’s coming back. This fabulous paper pack will return in our 2020 Holiday Catalog. Now is the perfect time to learn how to create my Christmas Snowflake Bow so that you can hit the ground running. Better yet, if you’ve got some of this paper in your stash, break it out and join me!

Christmas Snowflake Bow, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

You’ll need minimal supplies and it’s a great “TV watching” project. Cut that 6″ x 6″ piece of DSP into twelve 1/2″ x 6″ strips. You’ll wind up with 12 pieces. Next, you’ll want to cut your scallop circle. Mine is Copper Foil and really makes the sentiment pop.

Christmas Snowflake Bow, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

I’ve even copper embossed the lovely sentiment from the Christmas Gleaming stamp set. Even more good news! That set will carry over, as will the coordinating punches. We’ve got it in a bundle format currently. Don’t wait, order now and save with the 10% bundle pricing . That savings will go away once this Holiday Catalog retires on January 2, 2020.

Ready to start creating the Christmas Snowflake Bow?

Here’s how the magic happens.

  • Snowflake – Brightly Gleaming Speciality DSP – 6″ x 6″, cut into 12, 1/2″ x 6″ strips.
  • Scallop Circle – Copper Foil – 2 3/4″ x 2 3/4″, cut with the 2 1/2″ scallop circle die from the Layering Circles die set. **NOTE: When measuring the die, measure from outside edge to outside edge.
  • Circle – Whisper White CS – 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″. Run the embossing buddy over the surface. With the stamp from the Christmas Gleaming set, stamp the image in Versa Mark, sprinkle with Copper Embossing Powder and heat set with the heat tool. Die cut the image with the 2 1/2″ circle die from the Laying Circles die set. **NOTE: When measuring the die, measure from outside edge to outside edge.

Cup of Christmas Hot Cocoa Holder

Cup of Christmas Hot Cocoa Holder

Strolling the aisles of my local Dollar Tree, I spied an absolutely stinkin’ cute hot cocoa holder. I scooped up a few and continued my search.  In the candy aisle, I came across a box of six, individually wrapped, peppermint spoons. SCORE!! Once I got home, I knew I wanted to use my Cup of Christmas bundle to create my hot cocoa holder.

Cup of Christmas Hot Cocoa Holder, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

Be sure to add the Cup of Christmas bundle to your next order before it retires. This one is being offered while supplies last. The Holiday Catalog will retire January 2, 2020. I’ve created this alternative treat holder for another gift giving idea. Need a gift card holder? I’ve got an idea for that one too!

Cup of Christmas Hot Cocoa Holder, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

Color palette for my hot cocoa holder is Call Me Clover, Real Red and Whisper White. You will need a piece of 12″ x 12″ cardstock to create the box. But, that’s easy with Stampin’ Up!’s 2018-2020 12″ x 12″ In Color Paper Pack.

Cup of Christmas Hot Cocoa Holder, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

And what’s hot cocoa without some whipped cream. To create that detail I used the Snowfall Accents Puff Paint that will also be retiring. Grab a bottle or two, it will be great to put some puffy fur on your little lambs this Easter.

Cup of Christmas Hot Cocoa Holder, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

Did you notice that little stitched detail on the accent bands of my hot cocoa holder?  Those were created with the die from Stitched Labels. That one is an oldie, but goodie and can be found in the Annual Catalog.

Cup of Christmas Hot Cocoa Holder, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

Because I stamped the sentiment on a Retangle Stitched die, cut in Whisper White, I decided to color the sprigs and berries with our Stampin’ Blends. Here’s how it all came together. Hope you give it a try.

Here’s how the magic happens.

  • Hot Cocoa Holder – Call Me Clover CS – 9 1/2″ x 9″, on the 9″ side, score @ 1/2″, 1″, 8″ and 8 1/2″. Turn to the 9 1/2″ side and score @ 1/2″, 4 1/2″, 5″ and 9″
  • Trim the scored cardstock as shown below. Once trimmed, cut the window. On the 9 1/2″ side, line up the right edge @ 1″, cut from 2″ to 7″. Slide down to 5 1/2″ and cut from 2″ to 7″. Turn to the 9″ side. Line up at 7″, cut from 1″ to 4″. Slide down to 2″, cut from 1″ to 4″.

Cup of Christmas Hot Cocoa Holder, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

  • Decorative Accents Bands – Real Red CS – two @ 1/2″ x 4″, cut with the die from Stitched Labels.
  • Cup & Bow – Real Red CS – 2 3/4″ x 3 1/4″, cut with the dies from Cup of Cheer. Spritz both with Champagne Shimmer Mist.
  • Cup Detail – Whisper White CS – 2 3/4″ X 3 1/4″, cut with the die from Cup of Cheer.
  • Whipped Cream Foam – Whisper White CS – from a scrap, punch a 1 1/2″ circle. Apply the Snowfall Accents Puff Paint to the top half of the circle and heat set with the heat tool.
  • Sentiment – Whisper White CS – 4″ x 2 1/2″, stamp the sentiment from Cup of Christmas in Memento Tuxedo Black. Die cut with the die from the Rectangle Stitched set. Color the sprigs with the Call Me Clover Stampin’ Write Marker and the berries with the Real Red Stampin’ Write Marker.
  • Snowflakes – Sparkle Glimmer Paper – punch three images with the punch from the Every Season Punch Pack. Psst….. That punch pack is retiring too.

Toile Tidings Christmas Gift Set

Toile Tidings Christmas Gift Set

It’s all about the packaging! At least that’s what I think. Nothing makes a gift more special than taking time to create your own packaging.  My beautiful sweet sister will be hosting her WOW Club Night Party this week. I always give my hostesses their choice of project. Kathy wanted a Christmas gift bag and card. The Toile Tidings suite came to mind and I got busy.

Toile Tidings Gift Set, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

This Toile Tidings Suite can be found on page 6-9 of the Holiday Catalog.  I knew I wanted to use the cardinal in the design because our Mom loves them. I knew Kathy would want to give her a special gift in a special bag.

Toile Tidings Gift Set, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

Because I embossed the cardinal with our black embossing powder it gave it a rich look. The Dark Real Red Stampin’ Blend was my color medium. Quick, easy but very dramatic. And did you notice, I colored all the way to the edge of the paper. I really like that look for this image.

Toile Tidings Gift Set, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

And that gorgeous wreath was the perfect little “nest” to create for my cardinal.  I cut that using the All Around Wreath die set. I cut one wreath in Garden Green and the other in Gold Foil. I just offset them giving them even more dimension and interest.

Toile Tidings Gift Set, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

To highlight the top edge of the focal image I added some foilage cut from with the Beautiful Boughs die set. All the foilage on the bag was inked with the Golden Glitz Delicata Ink. I love the richness it added to those elements.

Toile Tidings Gift Set, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

And every gift bag needs a tag, right? I created mine with the Scallop Tag Topper punch. Adding a little sentiment decorated with the leaves from the Christmas Cardinal dies was the perfect touch. All I needed to complete the gift set was a matching card.

Toile Tidings Christmas Card, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

WOW, this card came together very quick and easy. The gorgeous Toile Tididngs Designer Series Paper in the background set the tone for both the card and the bag. You only need one sheet of the 12″ x 12″ to complete both.

Toile Tidings Christmas Card, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

Winter Sampler Featuring Let it Snow

Winter Sampler Featuring Let it Snow

I LOVE creating samplers. Are you ready for my Winter Sampler? I’m going to feature lots of the products in our Let it Snow Suite. You can find all those on pages 18-21 in the Holiday Catalog.

Winter Sampler, Let it Snow, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

Ok tell me, does this not make you smile? It’s just such a happy  piece. And you know what, if the cold weather we’ve been having is any indication, this might be the year we see some snow flurries in Louisiana. So, I’m ready!!

Winter Sampler, Let it Snow, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

The Let it Snow suite include the cute Snowman Season Bundle. That one includes the stamp set and the snowman builder punch. There has been some very popular items in the suite. First off, the Snowfall Accents Puff Paint has been a BIG HIT!!! All you have to do is apply it, heat it up with a heat tool and watch the magic happen.

Winter Sampler, Let it Snow, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

One of the “sleeper” die sets, (in my humble opinion) you may have missed, is the gorgeous Stitched Brightly Dies. Those can be found on page 29. That’s what I used to create that lovely star image. Because they are so beautiful, I decided to isolate one of the Christmas trees on the other die to create the square with the lone Christmas tree.

Winter Sampler, Let it Snow, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

The swirly images that accent the top and bottom corners of my Winter Sampler, are die cuts from the Stitched Stars Dies. That set will take you long past the holiday season.

Winter Sampler, Let it Snow, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

Are you wondering how I created those sparkly snowflakes? First, I cut three sets of the images, using the die in the Christmas Layers Die set. Then I applied a coat of our new Shimmery Crystal Effects, sprinkled on some of the Ice Stampin’ Glitter and let it dry. The effect is dramatic and was the perfect touch to my icy Winter Sampler.

Winter Sampler, Let it Snow, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

Be sure to pick up a pack or two of the Let it Snow Specialty DSP. Those stinkin’ cute snowmen came from the paper. One can be punched while the other two easily fussy cut. Want to create a sample for yourself or to give as a fabulous gift? Not only do I have a FREE video tutorial for you, but a full PDF instruction file.

Just click this link to download and print or save.

Let it Snow Sampler Instructions

If you need any supplies, be sure to order early. The season is fast approaching and all items in the Holiday Catalog are while supplies last.  Some have already made history, so don’t let that happen to your favorites.
