Here’s all the details on the program.

Don’t you just love Night of Navy? I used that cardstock to create the card base. Then I added in some Balmy Blue and Soft Suede elements. Not to mention, the Sail Away Trinket and the yummy baker’s twine.

Sailing Home, Susan Levasseus, WOW NOLA Creations, Stamin' Up!

I used a color wash technique to create the background on the stitched circle. Because I used Shimmery White cardstock, I didn’t have to worry about the cardstock pilling. And, it has a shimmery look! Our Stampin’ Blends made coloring the sailboat very easy.

To finish off the inside of the card, I added a Whisper White mat. I then added one of the Washi Tapes that comes in the Pressed Petals Specialty Washi Tape pack. Here’s how I put this one together.

Here’s how the magic happens.

  • Card Base – Night of Navy CS – 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″
  • Mat – Balmy Blue CS – 4″ x 5 1/4″
  • DSP Mat – Come Sail Away DSP – 3 3/4″ x 5″, ink the edges in Soft Suede ink.
  • Embossed Accent Mat – Balmy Blue CS – 3 1/4″ x 2 1/2″, embossed with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder.
  • Banner – Come Sail Away DSP – 5″ x 1 3/4″, punch one end with the Banner Triple Punch
  • Stitched Circle – Shimmery White CS – 3″ x 3″, cut with the die from Stitched Shapes. Using the aqua painter, wash with Balmy Blue ink. Allow to dry.
  • Boat – Whisper White CS – 3 3/4″ x 3″ – Using the stamp from the Sailing Home set, stamp the large boat image in Soft Suede ink. Color the boat with Light Soft Suede Stampin’ Blend. Color the masts with the Light Balmy Blue Stampin’ Blend. Color the water with the Dark Balmy Blue Stampin’ Blend. Cut with the die from the Smooth Sailing dies.
  • Sentiment – Shimmery White CS – 1″ x 3″. Using the stamp from Sailing Home set, stamp the sentiment in Night of Navy. Dissect as shown on the samples.

Butterfly Wishes

Butterfly Wishes

Today’s a little special. It’s a two-fer!  What’s that? Two cards, one video and lots of photos on two great cards you can create with the Butterfly Wishes stamp set.

Butterfly Wishes, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

What makes the Butterfly Wishes set so special? It’s a DistINKtive set. That means, with just one stamping motion, you achieve an image with both highlights and lowlights. Pretty nifty, right? For the first card in our two-fer, let’s tackle the beautiful “Love to Celebrate you” card.

Butterfly Wishes, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

Ok, first of all, those designer series papers are just too beautiful. The Garden Lane DSP is a fabulous monocromatic pack of gorgeous papers. If you love green, this is the paper pack for you.

Butterfly Wishes, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

Do you just love all those layers and texture? I sure do! And that cute little flower. That’s a quick and easy creation using the Medium Daisy Punch. You gotta have that one.

Butterfly Wishes, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

The large branch image from the Butterfly Wishes set, is the perfect one to appreciate the DistINKtive technology. I stamped it in Pear Pizzazz. That’s my accent color choice on this card.

Butterfly Wishes, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

No naked inside of the card this time. There is a gorgeous butterfly that I wanted to add. Stamping it on a mat of Whisper White insured that I didn’t have a mishap on the card base.  And I like the layered look as well. Next up we have a fantastic Birthday card with the Butterfly Wishes set. See the versatility in this one.

Butterfly Wishes, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

I’ve changed DSP packs on this one. This time we’ve got the fabulous Mosaic Mood Specialty DSP. The paper pack has mocaic tile designs and floral imagery with shiney accents. All I know is, it’s YUMMY!

Butterfly Wishes, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

This time I stamped the butterfly that coordinates with our Butterfly Duet punch. One of the best parts of that is we have an additional set that coordinates. The Butterfly Gala set is filled with all sorts of butterfly images and fantastic greetings.

Butterfly Wishes, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations, Stampin' Up!

I even stamped the sweet little flowers from the Butterfly Wishes set on the sentiment. I think it gives the greeting so much more interest and depth. I’ve even filmed a video for you, containing both card designs.

Here’s how the magic happens.

Sailing Home Four Panel Fancy Fold

Sailing Home Four Panel Fancy Fold

Ready for some fun? The Sailing Home Four Panel Fancy Fold is the card for you. It’s a great “statement” card, but oh so easy to create. And, once you learn this fold, you can use it with so many sets for lots of occasions.

Sailing Home, Four Panel Fancy Fold, Susan Levasseur, Stampin' Up!

WOW, right? The Sailing Home bundle will fast become your go-to for creating mascuine cards. I love the rustic look. Because there is a 12-piece die and stamp set, it makes creating beautiful cards a breeze.

Sailing Home, Four Panel Fancy Fold, Susan Levasseur, Stampin' Up!

When creating the card, I altered the standard size of the first panel so the lighthouse could be seen. Don’t you just love how all Stampin’ Up! products coordinate. No searching for this and that. More time to create. I call that a win-win.

Sailing Home, Four Panel Fancy Fold, Susan Levasseur, Stampin' Up!

Choosing a color combo was easy. I love the deep rich colors of Soft Suede and Night of Navy. Then adding a pop of Balmy Blue the scene came to life.

Sailing Home, Four Panel Fancy Fold, Susan Levasseur, Stampin' Up!

I wanted to add some texture to the stamped circle. The net die in the Under the Sea set was perfect. I cut one out of Soft Suede. Cutting it in half, I was able to use it on two of the panels. The Sailing Home bundle goes great with the Under the Sea bundle. Check it out for yourself.

Sailing Home, Four Panel Fancy Fold, Susan Levasseur, Stampin' Up!

You can’t be sailing home without a sailboat. I stamped both of the images in the set, colored them with my blends and they were ready to die cut. Adding the little strip of embossed Balmy Blue really made my scene realistic. The High Seas 3D embossing folder is a new offering in our Annual Catalog. I would love to share some tips and tricks with you.

Here’s how the magic happens.

  • Card Base – Balmy Blue CS – One @ 5 1/2″ x 11 1/2″, scored at 1/4″, 3 3/4″ and 7 1/4″. Turn the cardstock over, with the 1/4″ score at the top of scoreboard, score at 5/8″ from the top to the 7 1/4″ score line. Trim off the 5/8″ scored area. Balmy Blue CS – One @ 4 1/4″ x 2″.

Brayer Technique with Friend Like You

Brayer Technique with Friend Like You

More fun with techniques! This time a fantastic brayer technique with our sponge brayers. Creating the sunset on this card is so easy. And the colors blend beautifully. My new scene builder set, Friend Like You, created the finishing touch.

Brayer Technique Friend Like You, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations

Our sponge brayers are sold with 2 handles and four sponges. And guess what, it’s only $8 for the whole kit-n-kaboodle.  To clean them, just rinse in the sink and ready to go the next time in any color you choose. The brayer technique doesn’t even have a learning curve. If you can load it and roll it, you got it.

Brayer Technique Friend Like You, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations

The second technique in this card only requires a little H2O. Don’t you love that splatter look? It addes another level of texture and interest.

Brayer Technique Friend Like You, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations

And what a cut sentiment. Because I love those rusty looking dragonfiles that frequent my background, I decided to stamp those in Cajun Craze.

Brayer Technique Friend Like You, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations

Don’t forget the inside of your card. Adding a little stamping steps it up a notch. With the two-step stamp in the set this one really created a lit of interest. Need a visual? Here’s a vido tutorial.

Riverbend Frame Service Project

Riverbend Frame Service Project

Community Service is so important. My little contribution is to the residents of Riverbend Nursing Home. A beautiful, talented group of volunteers join in quarterly to craft. Our friends at Riverbend LOVE IT!! They look forward to each visit and are waiting in the entry way when we arrive.

Riverbend Frame, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations

Because each of our friends at Riverbend have different skill levels, I try to design a project they can easily put together. But, it is also very important that they feel accomplished and love the process. That’s where our product coordination comes in.

Riverbend Frame, Susan Levasseur, WOW NOLA Creations

Purchasing the little 4″ x 6″ frames from Dollar Tree helps make the project cost effective. Thank goodness I have a benefactor that donates the funds for our Community Service work. Hopefully, our friends at Riverbend will enjoy putting the frame on their bedside table. That way, they can be reminded that we are all thinking about them.
